Second ExaHyPE User Workshop

The second ExaHyPE User Workshop took place from 22.-26. July at the Leibniz Supercomputing Center in Garching. For this workshop, we invited existing users and interested potential users alike to try out the engine. Together with the ExaHyPE developers the users implemented many different PDE systems of interest in just three days. The workshop also featured talks on existing ExaHyPE applications and on the ADER DG method by Michael Dumbser and others, as well as a guided tour of Munichs petascale supercomputer superMUC-ng.

The workshop participants introduced us to many new and interesting application areas including thermoacoustics, the modeling of blackholes, cutcell methods, extended shallow water equations and new seismic application areas. Several groups ended the workshop with a working prototype in the engine and we hope that they continue to extend on the work produced in this week.
